About Michael Anthony Bonafede, D.O.
As a fellowship-trained obesity medicine specialist, I am committed to building collaborative patient-physician relationships and providing comprehensive, individualized care for obesity and its associated metabolic complications. I take a holistic, evidence-based approach to developing sustainable treatment plans for weight management and long-term metabolic health. I also dedicate part of my practice to clinical trials research, evaluating investigational therapies and contributing to continued advances in the field of obesity medicine.
Dr. Bonafede graduated from Binghamton University with a BS in Integrative Neuroscience and spent two years performing clinical research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center before completing medical school at Touro University. Dr. Bonafede completed Internal Medicine Residency at Northwell Lenox Hill Hospital and Obesity Medicine Fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College.
